Cheesedays, First Tooth Redux, and Playdates

The girls saw their first parade on Sunday when we travelled to Monroe for Cheesedays. We got to see my cousin Sara and her family, and they got to meet the girls. I have a few cruddy pictures from my phone - Sara's husband Errol took lots of pictures with his fancy camera so we'll have more and better pictures in the future. It was great to see them and we had fun walking around Monroe and watching the parade. Mostly the girls people-watched, but that's part of a parade too right?

Signe got her first tooth on Sunday as well. It's still working its way up - she's having some pain and trouble sleeping, poor girl.

And we had two playdates with twins Betty and Sophia and singleton Olivia. Five babies and three moms turns out to be a not-bad ratio for semi-mobile kids. We are able to block off any edges while allowing everybody to have some freedom to play. We got one picture of all the girls on a play structure, again on my phone, and facing into the sun. Ah well.

We're so looking forward to this weekend when Aunt Lara finally gets to meet the girls in person!!!

Stepping, MAMOM Sale, and Zoo

Another fun crazy summer week! We went to the zoo for the first time, had a little family picnic, and I scored big at the semi-annual Madison Area Mothers of Multiples resale. Notice the little advertising pitch for my group there??

I got two walkers at the sale and they both have taken steps with them! I got Signe's on video - she particularly likes walking and is pretty quick. I need to find a bigger area she can walk around in, here she mostly runs into things before she gets too far.

Signe walking along with her walker.

This might be the most hilarious picture I've taken of either girl ever. She got in herself and she got out herself. What a goof.

Another standing picture. Can't help myself, it's so amazing!

O balls! Thanks to Kelly

New shoes from the MAMOM sale!

Picnic

We call this Freya's monster face. It is difficult to capture on film, a fleeting expression, but here it is in all its glory.

Mmm Orange Dream

At the zoo with Nana and Papa

Roar!

Hahahaha

The giraffe was Freya's favorite animal, according to Papa Jack

Freya's first carousel ride! Signe was sleeping in the stroller so she got a rare individual experience.

Fun swings with Aunt Kerry!

Everyone taking steps with their new (old) walkers from the MAMOM sale

Fun on the truck walker

And their new (old) learning center thingy

They did this spontaneously, I swear

And then the using-sister-as-a-step begins

Caught you pulling hair Signe!

Standing and Outdoors Times

Freya is standing on her own! She stands for maybe 5 or 7 seconds and then plops to her butt. She's so proud of herself, and it's really amazing to watch.

We've been going going - lots of trips to the park, fun BBQs, etc. And they've been wonderful, the little sweethearts. It's going to get even better this week when the temps finally fall from the 80s/90s, FINALLY. Oh the crisp days of fall, when I get to dress them in layered outfits :-)

Someone just brought up Halloween - any clever ideas for either of them, the two together, or them with either/both of us? I feel like there could be something pretty cute there.

Update: Forgot to include the stats from their 9 month doctor visit. I forgot at the doc's office to get the after visit summary, so I don't have the percentiles; the doc is happy and everything is around the 40th or 50th percentile. (Notice a theme here, i.e., Alli forgets everything)

Freya: 28.25 in; 18 lb 1 oz
Signe: 28.25 in; 17 lb 11 oz

All by themseeeeelves. They DO wanna be all by themseeeeeelves.

Riding the Roddy at their twin friends' 1st birthday party. Unfortunate that they won't be able to have an outdoor party for their 1st birthday - pretty convenient for the food/cake cleanup situation, and entertaining lots of kids.

Getting herself stuck. They both like to crawl into sticky situations such as this. And they love the vents.

Mmm leaves on a stick

Is she really gonna eat that??

Ohhhh found an even bigger stick

Backwards hat coolness

Not satisfied with just her own water bottle

Tired after playing at the park

Having fun with Charles
