Baby Brother Third Trimester: 28 weeks

Well I've settled back into the routine after my big trip to Jersey. It was a great success. Lots of relaxation for mama thanks to Meg and Dave, hosts extraordinaire. And the girls had fun Skyping with me, and especially getting to "meet" Meg, Dave, and, most popular, their super cute Pomeranian, Haglet. I still hear requests for seeing Haglet :-)

Now I settle in to wait less than 3 months until baby boy makes his appearance. He's eggplant sized this week! Excited but nervous for life with two toddlers and a newborn, already very done being pregnant with my SPD getting worse and worse. I'm not sure it's actually any worse than with the girls; it's just that, now that the girls are here, as much as I try to rest (and Kurt does an awesome job taking care of most everything at night and on the weekends), there is still so much I just have to do for them that my pelvis doesn't like. Such as having to carry both of them across a snowy parking lot because it's freezing cold, a parking lot, and they decide it's time to go limp instead of walk hand-in-hand...it's hard too because even sitting is getting to be really painful. My only comfy position is laying, of course only on my sides, and then my hips get sore, and....yes, let the complaining commence. Third trimester woo!

The girls: Signe is often speaking in full sentences. It happened seemingly overnight. Freya is a crazy ball of focused energy all the time. As has been true forever, she always has a plan. Often it involves putting a stuffy to sleep (carefully wrapping in a blanket, putting somewhere to sleep). They are both "joking" a lot - saying things that aren't true on purpose. Like they were telling Kurt that each of their friends and stuffies in turn was mean. "Is elephant mean?" "Yes" (laugh laugh laugh). I also recently got Sesame Street bandaids. Possibly a poor choice. Because now they are regularly coming up to me "Ray scratched me" "oh, I'm sorry, where, do you need a kiss?" "hand...I need bandaid" I look...no owie, Ray sleeping peacefully.

Oh and in "they are growing up so fast news" - Freya is using the potty for the majority of her potty times. It started when I was in NJ, which is interesting since they say changes can make potty training harder. She still has accidents and still has diapers for sleeping. Today she even went potty on the tiny little real potty they have at Warner Park, the location of indoor playground (our main entertainment/get out of the house activity during the winter). And they are both in big girl beds! They are currently sleeping for the third night in them and have had three successful naps as well. They were definitely ready - no problems at all. In fact when they wake up they still just stay in the bed and call out for mama or daddy or cry as their mood dictates, they haven't gotten out. I'm sure that is coming soon.

 Just another metal face

Freya is in the closer broom closet. It was a fun game to hide in both until they started getting the lightbulbs out of the broom closet...had to shut it down

More Christmas!

Pictures of Christmas Eve and Day and Green Bay Christmas. Good times one and all. We ended up sleeping I think 6 days out of 8 at other people's places. Fun adventures! The pregnancy has gotten a bit rougher over the last couple days - again, just as with the girls' pregnancy, baby is completely fine, it's starting to get rough for me. Mostly the SPD pelvis separation thing. Makes it so almost no position is comfortable. Plus Kurt going back to work has meant more picking up and running after of toddlers. However, tomorrow I get a break - I'm heading to New Jersey to visit Meg and Dave for a few days. A nice relaxation time before baby comes to make our lives a little more, you know, full :-)

 Kerry tickles

Going to pick out our Christmas tree

 Signe by the reindeer enclosure

 Independent Freya

There she is (ps Kurt ended up just running up and getting the tree for us because it was clear there was no way we were all getting there, actually picking a tree, and bringing it back without tears from the cold (mine))

 Reindeer!

Freya gets close
 Diapering baby

 Hugzzz

 Goofballs

 Nana hug!

 Helping decorate the tree

Proud of the French braid I did. Getting better every time! Still don't know what to do with Freya's hair other than one or two ponytails

They gave a bunch of ornaments to Ray
Playing "fall down" on to the diaper pad

 Learning how to take pictures

 Reading time with Aunt Kerry

Skype-ing in princess dresses with Aunt Lara

Ring around the rosie (usually they just spin)

All fall down

 Making Christmas cookies with Papa

 Frosting with Daddy

 And finally decorating

Watching How the Grinch Stole Christmas. They loved it!

They discovered the vent would blow their hair
 Christmas presents from Kerry!

And then they got to tackle this one from Nana and Papa...

Bouncy horse!!!!
Freya fell in love first and rode for about 15 minutes

 Naked puzzlin

 Signe tries it out!

Awww Christmas snuggles. They started knowing/remembering Chris' official name, that being King Muncle Jam Jam. They usually leave off the King part

I don't think either girl ate a single pistachio but they did enjoy helping shell them then giving them to sleeping Daddy
 More Christmas movies

New place, same old routine. We stayed at the Wilson's house in Green Bay for 4 days and had a great time

 Everyone drawing together

Playing with Tego, Alanah, and the puncher guy

Sometimes you just need a break

We came onto all 5 of the kids playing together peacefully!

The balloons at the Haag Christmas party were a big hit
 Decorating cookies for the contest

 Opening presents

Reading a new book with Papa

Baking with Leah. Yes four children all got to contribute. Can you tell Leah is a former day care worker?

Alanah and Imani were kind enough to give Freya their Dora doll because she became so attached. She then got a ride on the girls' new bike

 Olive-ing like her Uncle Will

Signe thinks that's pretty silly
