We made it last night at a little before 5pm. Honestly the trip could not have gone much better. The kids worked with us, traffic was amazing, our snacks held out.
The backyard is HUGE. Did not realize it would be so big on our limited information of 12 photos online and a Skype tour with spotty reception interrupted by kids. It's like a dang park. We have to take care of it and might just get a push mower. We might be crazy? Also we need to figure out how to use it in winter. In the luxurious warm winter I'm looking forward to :)
We all love the rest of the house too. The broker was worried we'd think it was too small but it's plenty of room. The bedrooms are like the ones I grew up with on the near east side of Madison. It also seems to be roughly that age of house, maybe a little newer like 50s? I dunno really. But it has fun older house features which I love. And a half bath right off the living room which is helpful.
It is 2 stories which is new for the kids. Nice hardwood floors throughout but the stairs are carpeted, again a nice surprise.
The walls are painted nice different colors throughout so I don't think we need to change it up. I learned yesterday that the last people to live here are now the landlords - they decided to rent it out. So it doesn't feel like a rental.
No central air but there is a window ac in the basement they said we could use. Just have to figure it how we might use it. Maybe will have to get another one to two for all three bedrooms. Luckily this next week looks fairly mild so we shouldn't need to figure it out quite yet. It was pretty hot last night - I had to put cool cloths on the girls and fan them for them to get to sleep. It's only supposed to get to 84 today and less the rest of the week.
Today we go shopping for new beds for the girls. I think we'll just go to target. We may end up with bunk beds which would be fun.
Love to you all!
