On our way to Poughkeepsie - day 1

One last breakfast with Jack and Carol after they convinced me not to leave at 5 am. Left 7:45am. Kurt as passenger was completely covered by bags. Tough for a family of 5 to live out of a medium sized car for more than a week. No option for him to drive - too much stuff to move drivers seat back.

Great traffic with only construction here and there. Two rest stops, one gas fill up, and one pull off after a toll booth by Chicago to clean up after Freya had some car sickness. Very limited crying. And limited naps. The DVD player Rebecca strongly advised me to get was invaluable.

Got to the embassy suites in Cleveland at 6. Well 7 eastern time. Which meant we had to rush to get to the happy hour but just made it. Relaxed with our wine, old fashioned, and kiddie cocktails. And enough snacks, including veggies, to make it dinner. Then we went to the pool, tired the kids out, took a bath, and got them to bed in the bedroom. We repacked far more efficiently and Kurt should have a comfier ride tomorrow.

We'll get up and get the kids down to start breakfast right when it starts at 7. Hopefully head out by 8 and get in to Poughkeepsie at 6 (maybe earlier??). Excited and nervous to see our rental house for the first time! I think we'll love it but signing a lease sight unseen is nerve-wracking.

Love to you all. Start planning your trip to the beautiful Hudson Valley!
