Surviving the Heat

Well last week was ridiculous, heat-wise. We were so so lucky to have Kurt's parents let the hurricane that is all of us and our stuff stay at their centrally-air-conditioned house for the week. The heat prevented us from taking walks. But we found other ways to stay entertained. Including a sweet kiddie pool Papa Jack got for the girls! Signe improved her crawling skills by crawling after our cat Lily. Now that she's been crawling for a whole week, she decided it's boring and what she really wants to do is walk. She's always fussing to hold onto your hands and stand or walk around. Freya is still happy mostly sitting and working on her fine motor skills. She's an expert at grabbing pacifiers and putting them in all by herself. And she likes to show us whatever she's holding, and "put" things. She'll slowly lower a toy onto another toy or the floor, then bring it up again.

We didn't do much for the Fourth. In fact I didn't even get a chance to light off my sweet snakes. Next year we should be able to watch fireworks with the girls!

Looking forward to a much cooler week. Never thought this Wisconsinite would say that about a week predicted to be in the eighties.

Signe found a shoe! One of her favorite new toys, a good way to encourage her to crawl.

Peach!

Watermelon!

Mirror mirror in my hand

Babies aligned in their Fourth of July outfits. Also the day I discovered how bad dresses are for crawling babies.

Notice Freya's thumb through the paci

Signe, forever finding the non-toy in the vast array of toy options (she's grabbing the part you can put a hose through and create a sprinkler in the pool)

Caught one of Signe splashing! To Freya's delight

A series of pictures with Signe and the Paulson's dog Juno. She LOVES Juno. Not sure if it's reciprocated.

The girls love Kurt's ID badge thing. Handy to have a toy attached to you at all times!

Waiting for us to get out and swim.
