Spring! Sandbox! Sundresses!

First day of work/daycare went smashingly. We're all very happy! Freya even napped 2.5 hours - they said she napped like a pro. And they both asked for seconds of lunch. If they napped and ate, they can't be too unhappy I figure.

Signe especially but both girls are starting the "do it myself" phase. A bit challenging when we need to get somewhere but with proper planning and time built it we can accommodate it. Freya officially got her first molar and is working on her second. Signe has some really painful teeth coming through - she's needed a lot of ibuprofin.

Recently we noticed Signe crawling around saying what we thought was "no no no no". It was odd for her to crawl and we didn't know what she was saying no to. Then we got it - she's pretending to be a firetruck/ambulance! She has a couple play ones she likes to drive around and we'll sometimes make a ambulance sound. "Ne-nu ne-nu ne-nu" Mystery cutely solved:-)

They're sorta kinda being able to eat whole apples

What ISN'T a toy?

Sandbox!!

Made their own little nook by taking all the linens off the shelf in the closet. Apparently something smells in there though (pew noses)

First of what I'm sure will be many episodes of "cover sister with sand"over the years

Ready to go for a jog with mama. I swear they like stroller rides, they don't look like it here

Mama's Off to Work!

Well after an official hiatus from working of 9 months, I got a job I am excited about! And, it's part time with somewhat flexible hours. Good for me, good for the girls, good for the family. It's been a long road of applying and interviewing. And then the job I end up officially getting is formally offered to me one week after hearing about it and will start two weeks after. I am eternally grateful to Papa Jack, Kurt's dad, for reading the job ad and calling me. I never would have seen it. I can start building a career again without subjecting the girls to 45 hours of day care a week. Relief!

How about some pictures of my ladies and assorted hangers-on?

Nana time!

Helping Nana work

I'm not sure why so much malaise here but the matching expressions are very cute

Hugging her little person

And kissing her

Striding confidently

Papa has the high score: two toddlers and a cat on his lap

Under table cuddles...maybe not Freya's favorite

First flower given to Mama, aww

Having fun with Daddy

She loves that stump

I love our fenced-in yard. So key for nice independent play.

I thought this was so funny that she stacked tennis balls on the pedestal. Then Kurt told me he had done that for her the day before. Still cute that she was imitating Daddy.

A Bit More Catching Up

Photos finally downloaded from my phone from the beginning of the year to now.

So that's why Daddy is under the crib

Vacuum ride with Nana, 16 months

Easter present from Pat: pom-poms (attempting to brainwash the girls into cheering :-))

At the back playground at the nearby school

A girl and her rock friend

She loved that giant heavy rock and carried it around almost the whole time we were there

Freya looks awkward but she loved it

Cool girls

Filling up her bucket with leaves. Yes, I have now raked these up and procured a sand box

Just hanging out in a sea of cheerios
